Experience a Taxi Ride Like Never Before
Crazy Taxi takes gamers on a wild adventure as they try to complete missions and control they wayward vehicle. The game was originally released more than a decade ago and proved to be a big hit with gamers of all ages. Has Crazy Taxi managed to withstand the tests of time? Read on to find out.
The game takes place in an open world city that is surprisingly detailed and dramatic. Players take on the role of a fearless taxi driver who is willing to do whatever it takes to get their passengers to their destinations in record time. Each level represents a driving shift and players must rack up as much cash as possible before the shift ends. Cash is given in the form of taxi fares, so the more passengers you take on in a shift, the more cash you will make.
As the timer ticks down towards the end of the shift, the pressure starts to build and players are tempted to take more and more crazy shortcuts and break driving rules to get to the destination on time. Every time you deliver a passenger in one piece timer will be added to your clock, allowing you to attempt to squeeze in one last trip before the end of your shift.
The game is based on a popular arcade game and delivers the fast pace and excitement of the original. Although the game may seem a bit basic at first glance, there are lots of twists and challenges provided to keep things interesting. Using Crazy Dash will allow you to accelerate to almost warp speed, while Crazy Drifts makes it possible to turn on a dime and get out of sticky situations. The controls are quite easy to master and making various different types of manoeuvres during the game and breaking the rules can be a lot of fun.
Crazy Taxi comes complete with a great soundtrack that is sure to put gamers in the mood for the destruction that comes with the game. Lovers of rock will be able to bop along to tunes from Bad Religion, The Offspring and many more popular bands as their car careens across the screen and they do their best not to crash.
In addition to the main game mode, players are given a number of exciting mini games to try out. These games take on a wide range of weird and wacky themes including the very engaging taxi bowling mini game that puts a whole new spin on the regular game of bowling, often with hilarious consequences.
Although there are two cities for drivers to explore during the game, both of these cities look and feel rather similar to each other. The buildings and businesses tend to be rather generic and there are no franchises that you would find in an actual city. Buildings and other obstacles often seem to pop up from nowhere, which can stop players literally in their tracks and suddenly put an end to the great run they were enjoying.
Time has not really been kind to Crazy Taxi. A lot of advancements have been made in gaming over the last decade, which makes this game feel a bit old and basic. However, the game still offers plenty of crazy fun that younger gamers and those who have a love for all things retro are sure to enjoy.

Try to get your passengers to their destinations while dodging traffic and other obstacles in Crazy Taxi.
The game has a design that you might see in an arcade game. While the graphics are decent, they could be much better as the paint schemes on the cars and the buildings look like they were designed in the mid-90s. It's a typical taxi cab challenge. When you begin the game, you see the car that you will be driving on the road. You can change the look of the car later on if you want.
There are passengers standing on the side of the road that need to be taken to certain places in town. You will pick up the passengers and take them to where they need to go without wrecking your car. This is sometimes difficult to do as there are other cars on the road that want to make sure you are blocked in your lane. There are also a few obstacles that include trash cans and orange traffic cones. You could also get behind a slow line of cars or large trucks that will usually make you late in dropping off your passengers.
You can play in the original mode or the arcade mode. The arcade mode is more of a free-play where you can just drive on the streets to get a feel for how they are designed and where some of the businesses and homes are located. The arcade mode is where you have challenges, such as time trials. The best thing about the game is that you don't have to really worry about obeying traffic rules. You can drive on any side of the road, run red lights and pass other cars while driving as fast as you want so that your passengers are happy.
